About Ballasts / Starters
Hilox Evolution ballast
We have several different ballasts suited to specific uses. For newer luxury cars and trucks, for instance, we have the Evolution ballast. This ballast is a real technological showpiece. The built-in electronics make sure this all-rounder works flawlessly, without faults, in any car, motorbike and truck. The ballasts have an average lifespan of at least 5000 hours.
Hilox Performance ballast
This ultra-compact ballast can be fitted anywhere thanks to its small size and works perfectly on cars and motorbikes without an advanced on-board computer with CAN-bus. Think of cars like a VW Golf 4, Peugeot 206 and motorbikes without CAN-bus. The Performance ballast delivers excellent performance at a gentle price.

Frequently asked questions
Evolution or Performance ballast?
The Evolution ballast is for newer cars and trucks with an on-board computer with CAN-bus and works without faults. The small Performance ballast is for cars and motorbikes without CAN-bus, such as a VW Golf 4 or Peugeot 206.
