Upgrading your H8 halogen bulb to an H8 LED headlight bulb has never been this easy, thanks to this 4th generation Hilox XTR LED kit. We found the perfect balance between an ultra-compact size and an extremely high light output. That means this LED fits in just about any headlight, and with 3,600 real lumens per bulb you are holding the most powerful H8 LED kit on the market. With the XTR LED kit you give your car, motorbike or truck a clever bit of technology that is ready for any track, terrain or show.

Durable Luxeon Z ES LED chips

The H8 XTR Black LEDs use Luxeon Z ES LED chips from Lumileds (Philips). These are the only LED chips on the market developed specifically for the automotive market, which makes them ideal for both reflector and projector headlights. They last up to 30,000 hours: 30 times longer than halogen and 7 times longer than xenon. Lifespan also depends on how often you switch the bulbs on and off. If the LEDs are fitted wrongly or get dirty, they will not last as long.

Will it fit your car?

Before you order, measure the free space behind the headlight, with the dust cap on. The driver and CAN-bus module hang loose on the cable and you tuck them away next to the headlight. If the dust cap no longer closes, choose a deeper housing cap.

Frequently asked questions about the H8 XTR Black

Will this LED fit my car?
Before you order, measure the free space behind the headlight, with the dust cap on. The LED sticks out 36.2 mm behind the flange, with a cooling base of Ø42 mm. The driver (66 x 31.1 x 15.7 mm) and the CAN-bus II module (70 x 38 x 23.5 mm) hang loose on the cable and you tuck them away next to the headlight. If the dust cap no longer closes, a deeper housing cap solves it.
Will the XTR Black throw a warning on the dashboard?
No. The supplied CAN-bus II module has been completely redeveloped and makes the set 100% CAN-bus proof: no bulb failure warning on the dashboard and no flickering.
Do I need to modify my headlight to fit the LED?
Usually not. The XTR LED is ultra-compact and plug-and-play: it fits in just about any headlight with no extra wiring or modifications. Some cars need a fitting adapter or a deeper housing cap.
Does the LED work in both reflector and projector headlights?
Yes. The Luxeon Z ES chips from Lumileds were developed specifically for automotive and give a good beam pattern in both headlight types. Because the LED adjusts through 360 degrees, you can set the beam exactly right.
How long do the bulbs last?
The Luxeon Z ES chips last up to 30,000 hours: 30 times longer than halogen and 7 times longer than xenon. The Smart Cool chip with Maglev fan stops the chips from burning out. Are the bulbs waterproof?
Yes, the XTR LED is IP68 waterproof and withstands rain, splashing water and dust.
Can I use this LED on public roads?
No. This LED has no ECE approval and is therefore only meant for private land or the track, not for public roads. LED bulbs for a halogen or xenon fitting cannot get ECE approval; that goes for all brands. An E-mark on the bulb is about the electronics and does not make the bulb suitable for public roads.
