You know them: the cyclists and joggers you never see coming in the dark, so you only just manage to jump aside at the last moment. Well, they get the same thing with a dog they do not see coming. Pretty dangerous, then: an accident is waiting to happen.

Short answer

- Available in the LED colours red, orange, pink, blue and green.
- Leather collars close with a strong buckle, nylon collars with a sturdy plastic clip.
- Charge it from anything with a USB port, such as a laptop, PC or TV.
- For dogs that swim, there is a 100% waterproof version.
Hugely popular and safe!
They are hugely popular, light-up LED dog collars. They are super safe and come in lots of different sizes and colours. We at Hilox felt we had to do something with that. Besides being keen outdoor sports fans, we are real animal lovers too, so we added a special line of LED dog collars to our range.
For every dog or cat
We have something for every dog. For the tough, bigger dogs we have the leather collars with LEDs that look like little buttons. For the girls we even have collars with pink LEDs.
Available in the LED colours:
- Red
- Orange
- Pink
- Blue
- Green
High quality
The collars are of very solid quality and are splash-proof, so they will not give up if your dog runs through a few puddles or if it rains. The leather collars are easy to close with a strong buckle, and the woven nylon collars close with a very sturdy plastic clip.
Rechargeable
Almost all of our LED collars are rechargeable, so you never have to go to the shop for batteries again. With the supplied USB cable you can charge the collars from anything with a USB port, for example a laptop, PC or TV.
Which light-up LED dog collar suits your dog?
Hilox has four types of LED dog collar. All four can replace an ordinary collar, but they differ in material, size and protection against water. Side by side, according to the product data:
- PX4 (nylon, 1.5 cm wide): the slim, rechargeable collar for smaller dogs, in sizes from 26-28 cm to 35-40 cm. One fibre-optic tube with a high-power LED makes the collar light up. IP65 splash-proof. For example the PX4 in blue, 35-40 cm.
- PX1 (nylon): rechargeable, with 2 fibre-optic tubes and 2 high-power LEDs, in sizes from 35-40 cm to 60-80 cm and in red, orange, blue, green and multicolour. IP65 splash-proof and a pulling force of about 100 kg. For example the PX1 in blue, 40-50 cm.
- PX1+ (nylon, 100% waterproof): the same build as the PX1, but fully waterproof and therefore suitable for dogs that love to swim. Take a look at the waterproof LED collars.
- PX2 (real leather, 2.5 cm wide): for bigger dogs, with 6 white LEDs and 2 replaceable button cell batteries that last about 50 hours. Take a look at the leather LED collars.
Got a small dog? You will land on the PX4 pretty quickly. For medium and large dogs, the PX1 and PX1+ offer the widest choice of sizes and colours. Want a classic look without having to recharge? Then the leather PX2 is your collar.
Splash-proof or 100% waterproof?
Most Hilox collars are IP65 waterproof, in other words splash-proof. They can handle a rain shower and a dog running through a puddle. On the PX4 the charging point is built into the collar, so you can happily walk your dog in the rain.
Splash-proof is not the same as being submerged. If your dog regularly dives into the water, choose the PX1+: it is 100% waterproof and made for swimmers and for anyone who wants to use the collar all year round. Have a splash-proof collar and your dog goes for a long swim anyway? Then take the collar off for a bit.
How to charge a rechargeable LED dog collar
The PX1, PX1+ and PX4 have a rechargeable battery. Charging works like this:
- Connect the supplied USB cable to the collar.
- Plug the other end into a USB port, for example on your PC, laptop or phone charger.
- Let the collar charge for about 1 hour and 40 minutes.
- When charging is done, the light goes out. That way you always know when the battery is full again.
On a full battery you can keep an eye on your dog in the dark for about 4 to 5 hours. So give the collar a quick charge after every long evening walk, and an empty battery will never catch you out.
The right size and the right light mode
An LED collar has to fit just as well as an ordinary collar. Measure the collar your dog wears now, or use a tape measure around the neck. Leave at least 2 fingers of slack underneath, then the strap is definitely not too tight. Then compare your measurement with the size listed with the product.
All Hilox LED collars have 3 modes: steady, fast flashing and slow flashing. Steady light calmly shows where your dog is walking, for instance when he is running off the lead in the woods. A flashing mode usually catches the eye faster in the dark, which is handy along the road where cyclists, joggers and cars pass by.
